Both Westlake swim teams beat Cedar Park in a dual meet last week. The boys team won 136-105, while the girls team topped the Lady Timberwolves 159-135.
The Chap girls outswam Cedar Park in the 200 medley relay but finished second in both the 200 and 400 Freestyle Relays. In individual races, Alyssa Woltemath led charge with wins in the 100 freestyle and 100 backstroke.
Teammate Mackenzie Franklin and Mina Glenesk finished one-two in the 200 individual medley and 500 freestyle, with Franklin winning the 200 IM and Glenesk touching first in the 500 free. Margaret Beck swam to first place in the 100 butterfly. Second place in the 200 IM went to Jessica Conrad, while Bayley Wiltshire and Emily Sweet finished second and third, respectively, in both the 50 and 100 freestyle.
Chap Maddy Hunt was second in the 100 backstroke, with Anne Shedlosky and Conrad finishing second and third in the 100 breastrstroke.
Wes Thomas and Ben Ussery led the charge for the Chap men.
Thomas swam to victory in the 100 breaststroke and 200 freestyle, while Ussery outpaced the field in the 100 freestyle and 100 butterfly. Zack Thomas was the winner of the 200 individual medley, and David Doyle grabbed first in the 500 freestyle. JC Engle won the 50 freestyle and swam second in the 100 freestyle.
Other top finishers for the Chaps were Audie Embresto, second in the 200 IM and 100 butterfly; Hayden Southworth, taking third in the 200 freestyle;, Andre Newlands, placing second in the 50 freestyle; and Mitchell Beckage, getting second in the 100 backstroke.
The Chaps also swept victories in the 200 medley, 200 freestyle and 400 freestyle relays.
Next action for the Chaps will be on Nov. 9 in the AISD Invitational at the University of Texas Swim Center.
